Link to my YouTube video of my Production, Discarded.
In this screenshot, we can see several different audio clips. This has been done to ensure the voice of our characters can be heard, through the use of ADR. The wind was overpowering in these shots so we used a Zoom microphone and re-recorded the audio.
In this screenshot, we can see the free green screen effect that I found on YouTube. This was used during my title screen to add some feeling to the black screen. I ultra keyed the green out of the final shot so the blood gave a unnerving feeling going into the film.

This is my camera overlay that I used several times during my film. This was to show to effect of my CCTV camera in use during certain parts of my production. Just like my blood effects previously, I Ultra Keyed out the green background so only the white and red overlay can be seen.
To further help create the feeling of seeing through the lens of a CCTV camera I wanted to dim the surroundings and mimic the feeling of focusing on a certain point. To do this, I created a vignette around my screen and enlarged the size. I then rounded the oval shape to a circle before deciding that this effect looked wonderful and finishing.
In this screenshot we can see the difference in these same shots. On the left is the unedited version while on the right is my edited version. I changed the colours to make it less orange and green to make it more blue and darker. This was done to fit the theme of 'Surveillance Thriller'.

Which part of the project or process are you most proud of?
I'm quite proud of my CCTV footage as I think that using a vignette was a smart idea and quite intuitive.
What was the most difficult part of this project? Did you overcome it? If so, how?
I would say that the most difficult part of this project was finding the right colours for my shots. I needed some darkness but didn't want to remove all colour from my production so I had some difficult choices to make. I'm happy with what I ended up with as I overcame tis problem by going through many possibilities and checking which colours worked throughout.
What lessons have you learned for your next project?
Efficiency is key. It's easier to get the filming done first as it's the hardest to get done.
If you were to do this project again, what would you change?
I would try to not force mystery into it. My script was good but had an ending that didn't satisfy the audience. Next time, I will try to create a better ending by not purposefully creating a confusing ending.
Will/How will you be sharing this video? To your friends on Facebook, to your family on YouTube? If not, why not?
I will share this video on both YouTube and Vimeo. YouTube has a greater general audience and will reach more people looking for random things to watch/entertain themselves with but viewers on Vimeo are more likely to be looking for amateur short films like this.
